Who would have thought it. Me? Going solo travelling. One of the most scariest but best experiences that I’ve had in a life time. I thought it was about time that I explored the world alone and take the oppprtunity to embrace new culture, heritage and meet new people. Because there’s so much out there, that I just couldn’t wait forever for a travel buddy. Is it just me or do other people tend to go through the same situation where you’ll plan destinations that you want to visit with friends or family and it just never happens. Months down the line you’re still telling yourself that you’re going to hon on this holiday. And it just ends up not even taking place. I’ve been in that same situation on multiple occasions with so many different people and I just felt that it was about time that I made it happen for myself because I just felt like I was loosing out on all these extraordinary trips that I had planned in my head. I recently visited Barcelona and Costa Brava for 10 days. 10 days!, now for someone that’s travelling solo that is a lot of days. But it was bloody worth it, from the heritage tours, trying cultural foods to strolling through Barcelona market and hiking across the Bunkers de carmal to the sunsets on the beach. There was just so much to do and I had enough time to see it all, I’ll be sure to visit again. I benefited so much from this trip, not just with having time for myself but I was able to heal from any pain that I was going through and just relax. A five letter word that I don’t get enough of “relax”. I discovered with travelling I am able to put my mind, body and soul at ease and just take in new features from this new environment. The change in atmosphere is what shines a bright light. Throughout the whole trip, I couldn’t get enough of the beaches. I could spend my whole afternoon walking along the beach watching the sunset whilst my feet sunk through the sand. The view was spectacular and just so breathtaking, I really had to pinch myself a couple times because I sure thought that I was dreaming. There was just so much to do and I had plenty of time. I didn’t feel like I had to rush or there was people waiting. I was able to go at my own paste. I Hope you enjoyed the insights of my first solo trip experience.
